2 Sisters makes double sale of its pie and pastry businesses

2 Sisters Food Group, the leading poultry supplier, is selling two of its businesses - Holland’s Pies, and Portumna. The deal is expected to finalise this month.
Holland’s Pies, the long-time and well-loved Lancashire pie company established in 1851, is a household brand, stocked in all major supermarkets. Meanwhile, Portumna is the leading supplier of frozen pastry in the UK and Ireland.
While 2 Sisters has not disclosed the details of the deal, The Grocer reported that an Irish boutique investment firm has made a conditional deal for one or both of the food manufacturers.
A spokesman at 2 Sisters commented: “We are currently progressing a sales process for our Holland’s Pies and Portumna pastry businesses with an interested party. We will be able to update fully once we have an outcome of the transaction process.”
The deal comes after rumours that 2 Sisters were planning to put Holland’s Pies up for sale since 2018.
